On October 26th, 2022, the International Scientific Committee (ISC) of the XVIII World Water Congress held its 6th meeting online. ISC Co-Chairs Dr. Renée Martin-Nagle and Dr. Shi Qiuchi chaired the meeting. ISC Vice Chairs, representatives from IWRA’s Executive Office and the Congress Secretariat attended the meeting.

The progress of the preparation works was discussed, including VIP invitations and topic proposal for high-level panels, further consideration of the Beijing Declaration, and the decomposition of the programme framework for academic activities. The ISC Timeline was reviewed and improved during the meeting.

In the next step, the ISC will continue reviewing abstracts and proposals for special sessions, update and detail the activity programme, and continue to mobilise and promote the Congress.
