On October 21st, 2022, the XVIII World Water Congress (hereinafter referred to as the Congress) distributed its First Announcement to the world, launching the call for abstracts, special sessions, and side events.
Li Guoying, Honorary Chair of the Congress Organising Committee and Minister of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China, and Li Yuanyuan, President of the International Water Resources Association, give welcome messages on behalf of the hosts of the Congress.
The First Announcement introduces the International Scientific Committee members, Chair and Vice Chairs of the National Organising Committee. Additionally, it announces the Call for Abstracts to all the experts, scholars, policymakers, and young professionals in the field of water resources from all over the world. The announcement also includes other useful information regarding to the Congress.
The overarching theme of the XVIII Congress is "Water for All: Harmony between Humans and Nature". Based on that, 6 sub-themes and 44 topics are proposed. The Congress programme includes various academic activities such as High-Level Plenary Sessions, Regular Sessions, Special Sessions, Side Events and Posters etc.
Call for participation is NOW open online. All the submissions of abstracts and proposals are due on December 31st, 2022. All individuals are encouraged to send abstracts for oral and poster presentations and proposals for Special Sessions and Side Events for the 2023 XVIII World Water Congress.
The Congress hereby invites all the relevant parties who are interested in contributing to the congress programme, hosting special sessions and/or side events, and sincerely welcoming all the individuals to participate in this high-level water event in different ways.
