South korea is very safe, even for solo females, and is a country that prides itself on its low crime rate.


The currency of South Korea is the South Korea Won (KRW). Coin denominations are \50, \100 and \500. Banknotes are \1,000, \5,000, \10,000, \50,000. Pound Sterling, US Dollars, Euro and other major currencies can be converted into South Korean Won (KRW) locally, or you can purchase currency in advance. Foreign currency can be converted at foreign exchange banks.


Korea has four distinct seasons. It has a wide temperature difference between summer and winter and much precipitation in comparison with that of the Continent. The warmest month is August, whereas January is the coldest one. The average temperature recorded over the last 10 years is 20℃ in May; the temperature range in May is between 9 degrees to 33 degrees Celsius. The average recorded rainfall is 73mm in May.

Government offices and Organisations are usually from 9:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and closed on weekends & public holidays. Banks are open from 9:00 to 16:00 on weekdays.
