Airport (CUN/MMUN) is 16 kilometres from the city of Cancun
in the Caribbean coast of Yucatan Peninsula. It is Mexico’s
second busiest airport, after Mexico City International
Airport, but the most important in Mexico and Latin America
for international passengers.
The airport has
three commercial terminals. Terminal 1 is used by 2 domestic
airlines; Terminal 2 is divided into Terminal 2M for
domestic airlines and Terminal 2S for international flights;
Terminal 3 handles primarily international flights.
Currently there are 69 airlines offering 107 destinations.

To move around
Cancun, we recommend using authorised taxis or get your
hotel to phone a cab or from the commercial or tourist
establishment where you are located. At the airport, taxis
are located at the outputs of Terminal 2 and 3. If you
decide to use this means of transport, you need to purchase
tickets on installed modules. It is quite likely there may
be long queues to purchase tickets. All taxi fares are
priced per trip, not per person, most taxis have a capacity
of up to 4 people and vehicles in some cases for up to 3
The service is
available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 pm at Terminal 2 and
Terminal 3 service is available 24 hrs. Visitors cannot pay
with credit card credit card. In case of not having cash,
visitors should contact their operator to indicate the
nearest ATM and thus make the payment in cash. When you make
your reservation, we will e-mail you a detailed arrival
confirmation, as well as some instructions for your arrival
and checkout service (outward or return). We will know if
your flight is delayed since we keep track, as well as when
your flight lands. Do not be concerned and take your time in
immigration, our representatives will be waiting for you
outside the building with a banner or sign.
Cancun offers a
large taxi fleet to get around the city. Taxis are safe,
reliable and fast, although you should bear in mind the
difference in rates that can apply between the urban area
and the Hotel Zone. The cost of a taxi ride to downtown
Cancun is considerably lower than in Cancun Island, thus
within the Hotel Zone is more cost effective to use buses
(especially if you have to go between downtown and the

means of transport to go from/to the downtown and the Hotel
Zone (single ticket costs $8.5 pesos) or within the Hotel
Zone along Kukulcan Boulevard (ticket around $11 pesos).
Buses (also called "trucks") going from the Hotel Zone to
downtown have a "Downtown" sign on the front window, those
travelling from downtown to hotels have a "Hotels" sign.
There are excellent
tourist bus companies to travel to locations around Cancun,
Tulum, Playa del Carmen or Chichen Itza. Frequent and daily
service is available at the ADO Bus Terminal in Cancun (Pino
Lote 1 and 2, Super manzana 23, Benito Juarez) to get around
in the Yucatan Peninsula. There are also frequent trips to
the airport for a very convenient and affordable price for
those without transfer included from the hotel.
Arrival at Benito
Juarez Mexico City International Airport (AICM)
AICM is an
international metropolitan type airport, located 5 km and 30
minutes from downtown Mexico City. The Air Train
shuttle train runs between the 2 terminals. The transfer
time is around 5 minutes and passengers must show their
boarding pass or e-ticket.
If for some reason
the Air Train shuttle is not available, you can use ground
transportation called "transportation between terminals",
which are buses located at door No. 6 in Terminal 1 and gate
No. 4 in Terminal 2.
Later you can
connect your flight to Cancun International Airport.
